Advancing research and dialogue on criminology, terrorism, political violence, and security governance.
Independent academic research initiative established in 2015
The Nigerian Association of Criminology, Terrorism and Political Violence Studies (NACT-PVS) is an independent scholarly initiative dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research on criminology, terrorism, political violence, migration movements, and security governance.
Established in 2015, the initiative promotes dialogue and collaboration among scholars, researchers, and practitioners interested in understanding the evolving dynamics of organised violence, security governance, and institutional fragility in Africa and the wider international system.
NACT-PVS serves as a platform for research exchange, scholarly discussion, and the dissemination of academic work addressing contemporary security challenges and their implications for governance, development, and global stability.
The initiative encourages collaboration between scholars based in Nigeria, the African diaspora, and international research communities, recognising that the study of terrorism and political violence increasingly requires global and interdisciplinary engagement.
To promote globally engaged research and scholarly dialogue on criminology, terrorism, political violence, and governance challenges in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
To advance interdisciplinary research, encourage academic collaboration, and contribute to informed policy debate on contemporary security and governance challenges.
